The goal of the Student Ministry at LOPC is to help our students connect with one another and build deep friendships, grow in their understanding of the gospel, and to serve both their church and community. These three things are accomplished through partnering with parents to intentionally disciple their students and train them for use in the Kingdom.
Our desire is to see students grow to become mature and equipped followers of Jesus. During Sunday School we go deep into Christian teaching. In order to accomplish this we use curriculum, Bible studies, or discuss the sermon for that Sunday morning. Middle School and High School Students meet together in the Student Ministry room at 9:00am.
Our Wednesday Student Ministry program is geared to help students who are exploring questions about faith as well as those who are seeking to deeper there walks with Christ. Each week students meet to play games, share food, and discuss how Jesus, Scripture, and Christianity can help them live a missional life. Middle School and High School students meet together in the Student Ministry room from 6:30 to 8:15. However, there are times that we break out by age or gender depending on the topic at hand.
Thought out the year our students have various opportunities to serve both the church as well as the community around us. Attending camp, going on mission trips or helping lead VBS and backyard Bible Clubs are just a few ways that our students can impact the world around them.
